Nutrition


This is my P90X nutrition plan.  Based on the nutrition level calculations, I am level I.  I am allotted 1,800 calories of which 900 are from protein, 540 from carbs and 360 from fat.  Some things to remember about converting grams to protein, carb or fat percentages:
  • One gram of protein has 4 calories. 
  • One gram of carb has 4 calories.
  • One gram of fat has 9 calories. 
  • To calculate the percentages of each nutrient, multiply the total grams of each nutrient by their applicable calories.  Then, divide by total calories.  For example, in a diet with 1800 calories, 225g protein, 135g carbs and 40g fat, we would make the following calculations:
    Protein: 225 * 4 = 900 / 1800 = 50%
    Carbs: 135 * 4 = 540 / 1800 = 30%
    Fat: 40 * 9 = 360 / 1800 = 20%
